TON-E Seit mehreren Jahrzehnten erforscht Rinaldo Alessandrini als Solo-Cembalist und Leiter seines Ensembles Concerto Italiano nicht nur das italienische Repertoire, das er so sehr liebt, sondern auch die Werke von Bach, wie in seiner maßstabsetzenden Aufnahme der Brandenburgischen Konzerte 2005. In dieser neuen Aufnahme hat Alessandrini alle derzeit verfügbaren Aufnahmen dieser vier Orchestersuiten, die Bach wegen ihrer imposanten Eröffnungssätze Ouvertüren nannte, herausgefordert. Wir wissen nicht, wann diese Tanzsuiten komponiert wurden, noch wo sie uraufgeführt wurden, aber sie wurden sicherlich in Leipzig gespielt, als Bach das berühmte Collegium Musicum leitete. Hier hat Alessandrini erneut alle verfügbaren Quellen gesichtet und den gesamten Output des Komponisten unter die Lupe genommen, um die authentischsten Details von Stil und Orchestrierung zu identifizieren. Das Ergebnis ist eine subtile Balance zwischen Bachs kompliziertem kontrapunktischen Schreibstil und der Spontanität seiner Tänze mit ihren französischen und italienischen Einflüssen. Zusammen mit diesen majestätischen, festlichen, strahlenden Werken von J. S. Bach präsentiert Concerto Italiano zwei Ouvertüren in derselben instrumentalen Form von Johann Bernhard und Johann Ludwig Bach, zwei Cousins des Komponisten, mit denen Johann Sebastian lebenslange Freundschaft und Wertschätzung verbindet. Während seiner Leipziger Jahre ließ er ihre Ouvertüren kopieren, damit er sie mit dem Collegium Musicum aufführen konnte. Dies ist also eine willkommene Gelegenheit, diese beiden großartigen Orchesterstücke im zeitgenössischen Kontext von Bachs eigener Musik zu hören.
