Der vorwiegend auf politische Karikaturen spezialisierte Schaltzeit-Verlag baut seinen Kinderbuch-Sektor aus mit der Reihe "Märchen zur guten Nacht", in der bisher 2 Titel erschienen sind. Der vorliegende Titel erzählt das Märchen vom gestiefelten Kater, der sprechen kann und seinem Herrn, dem armen Müllerssohn, zu Reichtum, Ansehen und der Prinzessin als Braut verhilft, in der Version von Charles Perrault, die der grimmschen Fassung so sehr ähnelt, dass die Grimms das Märchen aus dem Kanon ihrer Sammlung wieder entfernten und in den Anhang verbannten, was allerdings dem Bekanntheitsgrad hierzulande keinen Abbruch tat. Hélène Kérillis hat die Geschichte flüssig und schnörkellos, aber inhaltlich vollständig nacherzählt und die in Paris lebende italienische Bilderbuchkünstlerin Chiara Arsego, die schon mit ihrem 1. Bilderbuch "Colette" positiv auffiel, hat sie hinreissend illustriert. Warmherzig, dynamisch, mit witzigen Details und stimmungsvollem Ambiente. Auch neben R.
