Geburtstag ist 2006 verschiedentlich erinnert worden. Ob Bonhoeffer jenseits ritualisierter Gedächtniszyklen ein Zeitgenosse auch des 21. Jahr-hunderts bleibt, darauf sucht der vorliegende Band Antworten zu geben. Der Band geht auf dieser Linie den verschiedenen Orten nach, an denen sich die Theologie Bonhoeffers entzündet und entwickelt hat. Was sind die besonderen Probleme, welche theologischen Herausforderungen warten zwischen Berlin, den USA, Finkenwalde und Tegel auf den christlichen Zeitgenossen Bonhoeffer? Mit welchen Konzepten, in welcher Sprache reagiert er? Gezielt wird entlang den theologischen Ortsbestimmungen Bonhoeffers nach dem Außendruck gefragt, der sein Denken bestimmte und veränderte. Das Interesse richtet sich dabei genealogisch auf die Konstitutionsbedingungen und theoretischen Verschiebungen seiner Theologie. Damit lässt sich zugleich die bleibende Bedeutung Dietrich Bonhoeffers bestimmen.
