Forscher, die unerschrocken Neues erkunden, sind immer auch mit der Frage des Bruchs von Konventionen konfrontiert. Besonders die Überschreitung von Grenzen in den Lebenswissenschaften löst regelmäßig öffentliche Diskussionen über die Einhaltung ethischer Normen aus. Moralische Argumente, die grundgesetzlich verankerte Unantastbarkeit der Würde des Menschen und des Lebensrechts, aber besonders auch die historische Erfahrung mit medizinischer und biowissenschaftlicher Forschung in der NS-Zeit bestimmen die Debatte in Deutschland. Wer gibt die Grenzen wissenschaftlichen Forschens in den Institutionen vor? Wie sinnvoll sind einheitliche ethische Normen in der Wissenschaft? Auf dem Podium diskutieren Vertreter großer Forschungseinrichtungen über ethische Leitbilder sowie deren Sinn und Grenzen in der vernetzten Welt der Wissenschaften. Prof. Dr. Detlev Ganten (Charité Berlin), Prof. Dr. Reinhard Kurth (Robert-Koch-Institut, Berlin), Prof. Dr. Carola Sachse (Institut für Zeitgeschichte, Universität Wien) und Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sieber (Max-Planck-Institut für internationales und ausländisches Strafrecht, Freiburg), Moderation: Harald Asel (rbb) Ein Mitschnitt der Veranstaltung wird am 26.
