Wer besser gebildet ist und ein besseres Einkommen hat, beteiligt sich stärker am politischen Prozess. Informelles politisches Engagement ist sogar noch stärker die Sache einkommensstärkerer Gruppen. Soziale Ungleichheit bei der politischen Partizipation kann die Legitimität demokratischen Regierens schwächen.
