Auf der Basis des in vieltausendjähriger Tradition gewordenen Qigong hat Zhang Guang De, Professor für Qigong an der Sporthochschule Peking, die in diesem Buch veröffentlichen Übungsreihen entwickelt. Sie verbinden Erfahrungen der Qigong-Praxis mit der Qigong-Theorie und mit den Erkenntnissen der Traditionellen Chinesischen Medizin zu wirksamen Methoden der Gesundheitspflege. Der erste Band, der im März 1992 erschien, beinhaltet das "Herz-Qigong". In diesem zweiten Band werden drei Methoden des daoyin yangsheng gong vorgestellt und erläutert: - Das Qigong, um qi zu stärken und die "Lunge" zu pflegen (yi qi yang fei gong) wirkt sich vorbeugend und heilend auf Erkrankungen der Atmungsorgane aus. - Das Qigong, um die Muskeln zu lockern und die Knochen zu stärken (shu jin zhuang gu gong) wirkt sich vorbeugend und heilend auf Erkrankungen des Bewegungsapparates aus. - Das 49er Leitbahnen Bewegungs-Qigong (49 shi jing luo dong gong) stärkt die Abwehrkraft des Körpers und stabilisiert das Immunsystem. 〈dt.〉
