Content:
Lotte Lenya (1898-1981) ist die herausragende Interpretin von Kurt Weill -mit dem sie verheiratet war- und Bertolt Brecht Liedern. Als Schauspielerin am Berliner Ensemble Ende der 1920er Jahre war sie unmittelbar bei dem Entstehen der Werke dabei. 1955 entschloss sie sich, in Hamburg einen Abend mit diesen Liedern zu gestalten, der zu einer legendären, lange vergriffenen Aufnahme wurde. Norman Nitzsche vom Berliner Calyx Studio hat das Konzert neu gemastert und damit erstrahlt Lotte Lenya in Begleitung von Roger Bean und seinem Orchester endlich wieder in historischem Mono in neuer Blüte.
