Der mehrheitsgesellschaftlichen Zuschreibung als ungebildetes ‘Straßenkind’ begegnen sie mit einer Korrektur des Selbst, indem sie den lebensweltlichen Sprachstil – Defendolekt, wie die Autorin ihn nennt – nutzen: Die Straße als relationaler Raum des Überlebens wird verteidigt. Argumentativ begründen sie, dass sie lernende, kompetente und sinnhaft handelnde Subjekte einer besonderen alltäglichen Lebenswelt sind. Sie nehmen die beschädigte Identität nicht an.
