Der Band versammelt Aufnahmen von Fotografen der weltberühmten Fotoagentur Magnum (vgl. "Magnum Magnum", BA 3/10), die mit ihren Reportagen revolutionäre Umwälzungen unserer Zeit begleitet haben - vom Arabischen Frühling in Tunesien und Ägypten in 2011 und 2012 zurück bis zum Kampf gegen die Apartheid in Südafrika, zum Fall der Berliner Mauer, zur kubanischen Revolution 1958-1959 und zum Ungarnaufstand im Jahr 1956. Zu jeder Fotoreportage mit ausnahmslos äusserst beeindruckenden Schwarz-Weiss- oder Farbaufnahmen gehört ein einleitender Textbeitrag mit einer Beschreibung und Einordnung der historischen Abläufe; Interviews mit den Fotografen und kurze Daten zu ihrer Person gibt es ebenfalls. Eingeleitet wird der Band von einem sehr lesenswerten Aufsatz des renommierten amerikanischen Reporters Jon Lee Anderson (vgl. zuletzt ID-G 23/05 und BA 9/05).
