"Mirjam Bolle, geboren 1917, lebte in Amsterdam, bis der Jüdische Rat den Befehl zur Selbstauflösung erhielt. Sie versteckte ihre Briefe und wurde nach Westerbork und später nach Bergen-Belsen deportiert. Dort schrieb sie weiter und notierte das Unglaubliche, das sie erlebte. 1944 konnte sie mit dem einzigen Gefangenenaustauschzug, der Bergen-Belsen je verliess, nach Palästina ausreisen--ihre Aufzeichnungen aus dem Lager schmuggelte sie mit in die Freiheit. Dort heiratete sie ihren Verlobten. Erst 2003 wurden ihre Tagebuchbriefe von einem niederländischen Historiker entdeckt und von ihr zum Druck freigegeben.
