TON-E Spannungsvoll, entdeckerfreudig und risikobereit, ohne Furcht vor Schönklang und Komplexität, mit viel Lust am Schrägen kombiniert das preisgekrönte Saxophonquartett XENON auf seiner Debut-CD "Dedicated to" klassische Werke, die ursprünglich für Streicher geschrieben wurden, mit Originalkompositionen für Saxophonquartett aus dem 21. Jahrhundert. Der Ersteinspielung von "Viridian Vestiges", das der 35-jährige kolumbianisch-französische Komponist Daniel Alvarado Bonilla für Xenon schrieb, sowie der europäischen Ersteinspielung des Saxophonquartetts von Georg Friedrich Haas (*1953), einem der bedeutendsten Spektralisten, stellt das junge Ensemble Griegs Holberg-Suite, Mozarts Streichquartett Nr. 21 in D-Dur und Puccinis "Crisantemi" gegenüber. Mit Mitgliedern renommierter Streichquartette erarbeitete sich Xenon Klang- und Phrasengestaltung sowie Artikulation - auch, um auf seinen "falschen" Instrumenten für alte Werke ein neues Hörerlebnis zu kreieren. Die ausgewählten Werke verbindet der Widmungsgedanke, wobei ihre Widmung die jeweilige Komposition beeinflusst hat. Mozart zum Beispiel brachte die Cellostimme, die das Baritonsaxophon übernimmt, in seinem Quartett so prominent wie die Geigenstimme, weil der preußische König leidenschaftlich gern Cello spielte und Mozart ihn als Sponsor gewinnen wollte.
