Aufgebaut wie die Vorgängerbände in der bekannten Reihe (zuletzt ID-A 7/14, eT 5/16) werden neben einer knappen Einführung in die Stadtgeschichte Rundgänge durch die Innen- und Südvorstadt, den Auwald, und Leipzigs Westen beschrieben. Dazu gibt es Vorschläge zu Ausflügen in die Umgebung. Einsprengsel von Lieblingsorten der Autorin, Extratouren und Beschreibungen von ungewöhnlichen Orten und Begebenheiten lockern den ohnehin flott lesbaren Text noch mal auf. Vorschläge, die Stadt per Fuß, Bahn, Bus oder Kanu (!) zu erkunden, machen zusätzlich Lust auf die Stadt. Mit Reise-Infos, vielen (oft zu) kleinen Fotos, Register, City-Tourenkarte, Detailplänen und in der Innenklappe eine Übersicht über die Highlights der Stadt. In den letzten Jahren ist Leipzig - vor allem für junge Leute - zunehmend attraktiver geworden, deshalb sollten ältere Ausgaben (s.o.) auslaufen und/oder durch diesen gerade junge Leute ansprechenden Titel ersetzt werden.
