Content: The Shipibo occupy the central Río Ucayali region of eastern Peru and its major western tributaries. This file consists of twenty-four documents, three in Spanish, and the remaining twenty-one in English. The major time focus for these studies ranges from the 1950s to the 1980s. Most of the works consist of community studies centering around villages located in the Pisqui and Ucayali River areas of Peru (e.g., the villages of Nuevo Eden, Panaillo, Paococha, Yarinacocha, Roboya, and San Francisco de Yarinacocha). There is no single comprehensive work providing ethnographic coverage for all the Shipibo in Peru. The two works by Eakin, however -- one in Spanish and the second an updated version of the first but in English -- do provide a wide range of cultural data on the Shipibo of the Ucayali River area. In addition to these, Behrens (1988) provides comparable information on the village of Nuevo Eden, located at the headwaters of the Pisqui River. Other major topics discussed in this file are food, food production, agriculture, diet, the Shipibo ceramic industry, fertility and contraception, puberty rites, and kinship behavior and kinship terminology

Content: Even considering that the field of research for diffusion of innovations theoretically is a mature territory, its approach is predominantly macrosocial and quantitative. The cultural, symbolic or social aspects of the diffusion process may still be explored, by means of a microsocial and qualitative lenses. This study aimed at investigating the influence of the family transmissions in the innovation diffusion process in beauty products, by having the popular class family in brazil as a unit of analysis. The family transmission analysis is based on two theoretical keys: the socialization process and the influence among generations. Two generations of women from fifteen families were interviewed. The method chosen was their life story interview, complemented by the household and children observation. As a result, we put together a set of contributions, distributed into three theme groups. The first group introduced the consumer’s development phases, from the construction of taste to the adjustment of the consumption. Next, we introduced a typology of influences in the process of transmitting novelties, as well as a consumer strategy to manipulate the influential sources, called the confirmation circle. We further described the types of transmission of innovations, which are in favor of the reproduction or even of the renewal of the system of practices and values of the origin family. This study contributed to expliciting the close articulation between the adoption of innovations and the social structure, cultural values, context, the incorporation of a pattern related to consumption taste and imagery

Content: This article proposes a reflection on the methodological aspects relating to the anthropological interpretation directed to the religious conversion experience by the members and attendees of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG). From A dialogue with the research trajectories of one of the authors, the developed discussion looks to identify scholarly consensus established around this experience, in order to question them and propose alternative analytical paths. In this sense, the UCKG and the occurring conversions in their rituals, are raised from the visions highlighted by the “others”, anthropologists and social scientists. The proposal of a methodological reflection is therefore directed to a question of anthropological interpretations, already consolidated in the imaginary national academic, upon the neo-Pentecostal religious conversion.
