Restoration of the film by Gaumont in 1995 with the collaboration of the Film Archive of the Centre Nationale Cinématographique (CNC), the Cinémathèque Francaise, the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York and Swiss Cinémathèque: the film was restored to its full length, the inter-titles re-inserted and the delicate tinting redone. Marius-François Gaillard's music written to accompany the film was recorded on the DVD. "The film for the first time in the history of the cinema ... was accompanied by a musical score composed with reference to the images and intended to be performed in constant synchronism with them."
