Biographisches: " Lyssa Kay Adams read her first romance novel at way too young of an age when she swiped one from her grandmother&rsquo, stash. After a long journalism career in which she had to write way too many sad endings, she decided to return to the stories that guaranteed a happy ever after. Once described as &ldquo, unny, adorable, and a wee-bit heartbreaking,&rdquo,Lyssa&rsquo, books feature women who always get the last word, men who aren&rsquo, afraid to cry, and dogs. Lots of dogs. Lyssa writes full time from her home in Michigan, where she lives with her sports writer husband, her wickedly funny daughter, and a spoiled Maltese who likes to be rocked to sleep like a baby. When she&rsquo, not writing, she&rsquo, cooking or driving her daughter around from one sporting event to the next. Or rocking the dog." When Nashville Legends second baseman Gavin Scott’s wife, Thea, informs him not only that she wants a divorce but that she has been faking orgasms for the three years of their marriage, he’s devastated. Macho man Gavin is just desperate enough to take the advice of a secret book club made up of other athletes and powerful men who get relationship tips from romance novels. They instruct him to use a Regency romance, Courting the Countess , as a blueprint for starting over and wooing his wife properly. Gavin and Thea rekindle their relationship, one chapter at a time, while working through their individual issues. Adams ( Seventh Inning Heat ) weaves in humor, complex emotions, and excerpts from the motivational story itself to create a satisfying courtship. A strong supporting cast, including Gavin’s book clubmates and his tiny, adorable twin daughters, helps flesh out the Legends community. This earnest charmer is sure to win Adams new fans. " Rezension(3): "〈a href=http://www.audiofilemagazine.com target=_blank〉〈img src=https://images.contentreserve.com/audiofile_logo.jpg alt=AudioFile Magazine border=0 /〉〈/a〉:A silly premise and a very personal issue comprise what turns out to be a meaningful story, delivered by two narrators. The story starts with Thea, Gavin's wife, talking about divorce. Gavin, portrayed by Andrew Eiden, doesn't want to divorce, so his baseball buddies bring him into their secret club--a group of men who read romance novels to help them with their marriages or ability to woo women. Eiden gives Gavin a big heart and a tone of integrity. Additionally, Eiden realistically projects Gavin's initial reluctance to accept the idea that a romance novel might actually be able to help him with his marriage. Maxwell Caulfield masterfully voices the Count who is featured in the Regency romance the group offers Gavin. The two narrators add depth and resonance to a surprisingly deep love story. S.K.G.
