Nicht selten wird dabei deutlich, welchen "Gesetzen" die Journalisten auf der Jagd nach einer guten Geschichte unterliegen und welche teilweise politischen Auswirkungen ihre Berichte haben können. Auch Ereignisse neben und nach seiner Journalistentätigkeit bleiben nicht unerwähnt, beispielsweise die Mitbegründung eines Kinderhilfswerk oder die Auseinandersetzung mit der Region seines Alterswohnsitzes in Görlitz.
