Mit dem Aufkommen der Kreativwirtschaft verändert sich auch das Handwerk. Die Grenzen zwischen den vormals getrennten Bereichen der kreativ-entwerfenden und handwerklich- ausführenden Arbeit lösen sich auf, nicht zuletzt aufgrund der zunehmenden Digitalisierung und Technologisierung. In der Folge haben sich neue Praktiken und Berufsbilder ausgeprägt. Damit einhergehend wandelt sich auch die berufliche Sozialisation und bringt neue Identitäten hervor, die sich zwischen Gestaltung und Produktion verorten. Die vorliegende Studie fragt aus interdisziplinärer Perspektive zwischen Sozialwissenschaft und Designforschung einerseits danach, wie die neuen Berufsbilder und Berufsidentitäten im Handwerk und Design des 21. Jahrhunderts entstehen. Andererseits untersucht sie, wie berufliche Identitäten in den Kreativberufen im Spannungsfeld von Generation, beruflichen Idealen und ökonomischer Realität gebildet bzw. verhandelt werden.
