Ziel der Untersuchung ist die Darstellung von Kultur als dynamischem, autopoietischem, d.h. in prozesshaftem Austausch mit dem Kulturträger existierenden System. Diese Per-spektive wird mit den Ergebnissen einer quantitativen und qualitativen Analyse argu-mentativ belegt und aus einer emischen (hier als Feldforschung innerhalb von Schul-klassen oder Jugendgruppen) konstruktivistischen Sichtweise heraus durch teilnehmen-de Beobachtung, Leitfadeninterviews mit jugendlichen Anhängern verschiedener Kul-tursysteme unter dem Dach der bundesdeutschen Gesellschaft und Songtexte kultur-tragender Musiker erhärtet. Die Theoriekonstruktion schließt sich an die allgemeine geis-teswissenschaftliche oder besser gesagt kulturwissenschaftliche Debatte um konstrukti-vistisches, systemisches und kognitionswissenschaftliches Denken an und überträgt unter Anwendung ethnographischer und -methodologischer Verfahren diese Ansätze zum ersten Mal auf eine Konzeption im Bereich der Musikpädagogik. Es ergeben sich weit-reichende pädagogische Konsequenzen, denn bisherige Schwerpunkte des Musikun-terrichts, wie sie sich in den Lehrplänen präsentieren, werden kritisch hinterfragt, da sie sich im wesentlichen als kanonische Konstrukte zur funktionalen Aufrechterhaltung eines bestimmten dominanten oder elitären Kultursystems und damit von Kulturzentrismus her-ausstellen und infolgedessen heterogene, zunächst unvertraut scheinende Kultursyste-me marginalisieren. Dafür spricht auch die vorwiegend musikhistorisch geprägte Ausbil-dung des musikpädagogischen Nachwuchses. Vom Standpunkt einer globalen Kultur-vernetzung und vom als Erziehungsziel propagierbaren Zielzustand einer globalen fried-lichen Koexistenz kultureller Systeme ausgehend, kann die Einseitigkeit und Verabsolutie-rung musikpädagogischer (und allgemein kulturpädagogischer) Inhalte in verbindlich kanonisierter kulturzentristischer Form nicht mehr befriedigen. Es bedarf vielmehr flexibler ethnomusikologischer bzw. kulturwissenschaftlicher Methodenkompetenz und Vor-kenntnisse beim Musikpädagogen, um kultureller Relativierung im globalen Rahmen gerecht zu werden. Deshalb sind auch rein pragmatisch im didaktischen Bereich Me-thoden zu entwickeln, die auf der Basis aktueller Kognitionsforschung der ganzheitlich-pluralen Verfassung unserer Gesellschaft und der darin lebenden Individuen mit ihren heterogenen kulturkonstruktivistischen Bedürfnissen gerecht werden.
