“This publication recollects four essays presenting a rather significant change of my interest in research towards a new geographic and cultural region (from the Amazon to the Andean mountains), referring to political and social processes having taken place during centuries of a remote past. Since I think I have demonstrated it in these pages, indeed I extended my objectives of working and I investigated thoroughly with a perspective of 'Historical Anthropology' and 'Ethnohistory'. I didn’t come to be entirely a historian and I ask the historians for comprehension of my potential errors committed in my 'incursion' into their fieldworks; I used some theoretical methods and options in parts having nothing to do with anthropology, in which I had been active for many decades and which has been the subject of my daily academic activity."--Publisher's website
