En tant que symboles moralisateurs, l'Asiatisme et l’Africanisme ont pour but et effet de construire leur propre communauté, et de défier la « hiérarchie morale» dans laquelle les Occidentaux se trouvent au sommet, les Asiatiques et les Africains en bas. Cette hiérarchie s'élabore non seulement par les Occidentaux, mais aussi par le mouvement modernisateur. De ce fait, la façon dont se moralisent les Asiatiques et les Africains s'appuient sur les valeurs modernes qui eux sont propres pour faire face aux Occidentaux, ainsi que pour la lutte de leadership dans leur cadre respectif. Ainsi l'Asiatisme et l'Africanisme présentent des formes différentes, car leur efficacité du symbole se varie en vertu de la conjoncture socio-historique. Dès lors, l'histoire moderne se fait découper en trois périodes, en fonction du régime international de l'économie politique, à savoir la période impérialiste, la période développementaliste et la période de la mondialisation. Enfin, je conclus : 1). correspondant à la configuration du régime international la forme symbolique des discours se focalise respectivement sur polity, policy et politics. 2). La modernité africaine étant centrifuge, la légitimité des discours africanistes est affaiblie par d'importantes forces exogènes qui rendent relativement difficile l'établissement d'une communauté africaine, La modernité asiatique étant centripète, les discours asiatistes sont donc plus favorables à la construction d'une communauté asiatique, les forces intégratrices étant endogènes, axées sur les deux pôles, à savoir la Chine et le Japon

By comparing Asianism and Africanism, this research aims to study the factor that differentiate the legitimizing effect of symbol with reference to their space and time. The Asiatist and Africanist discourses are considered as moralizing symbols, with an end to construct their own community by challenging the "moral hierarchy" in which the Occident stands at the top, and the rest at the bottom. This hierarchy bas been elaborated and reinforced not only by the Occidental but also by modernization. Accordingly, modem values have been selected to moralize the Asians and Africans vis-à-vis the Westerner. While the symbolic effectiveness of Asianism and Africanisrn depends on their socio-historical conjuncture, this paper differentiates modem history into three periods: the imperialist period, the developmentalist period, and the globalization period Accordingly, the Asianism and Africanism could be regarded as a symbolic struggle for hegemony in their own circles by way of presenting different significations of "Asia" or of "Africa". This study reaches three conclusion: 1). Corresponding to the configuration of an international regime, the symbolic form of Asiatist and Africanist discourse focuses respectively on polity, policy and politics. 2). African modernity is centrifugal, and the legitimacy of Africanist discourse is weakened by exogenous forces, which makes the construction of African community relatively difficult Asian modernity is centripetal and its discourse is favorable to the construction of Asian community. This is because China and Japan, the integrating forces, are endogenous
