Dass sich Adoptivkinder auf die Suche nach ihren Wurzeln - meist nach der leiblichen Mutter - machen, kommt oft vor (s. auch A. Mörtl: "Lotostochter", ID-A 4/12). Dass sich ein Pflegekind entschieden von seiner - ihm bekannten - leiblichen Mutter trennt, ist ungewöhnlich. J. Kunze (Jahrgang 1974), bekannt aus Film und Fernsehen, berichtet von ihrem schwierigen Leben als Pflegekind: Geborgen in einer Familie, die ihr enge Grenzen setzt, aber auch unerschütterlich zu ihr hält. Dann umworben von ihrer eher flippigen leiblichen Mutter, doch zu ihr zurückzukommen. Die damals 10-Jährige lehnt das vehement ab und kämpft darum, bei der Pflegefamilie bleiben zu dürfen. Mit der Pubertät wachsen die Spannungen zwischen Janine und der Pflegemutter, die auf strenger Einhaltung der vom Jugendamt vorgegebenen Regeln beharrt. Mit 18 - endlich frei - erkennt Janine, dass sie ihre Wurzeln in ihrer Pflegefamilie hat und lässt sich von ihr adoptieren. Zu empfehlen weniger wegen des aktuellen Medieninteresses um das Buch als um den weitgehend ebenso unbekannten wie unbefriedigenden Status von Pflegekindern und -eltern. (2)

Janine wächst als Pflegekind in einer Familie auf, in der sie sich geborgen fühlt. Als sie 10 ist, will die leibliche Mutter sie wieder zu sich nehmen. Janine wehrt sich nach Kräften und erreicht, dass - nach schwieriger Pubertät - aus ihrer Pflege- eine Adoptivfamilie wird.
