Diese Lieder-CD versammelt Werke von Komponisten, die Wesentliches zur Entwicklung des Kunstlieds oder dessen französischer Form, der Mélodie, beigetragen haben. Franz Liszt hat nicht nur allein 55 Schubert-Lieder transkribiert, sondern 70 eigene Lieder komponiert, darunter "Die Loreley", "Es war ein König in Thule" u.a. In der Orchesterfassung viel bekannter ist Hector Berlioz' bekannter Zyklus "Les nuits d'été", der in der originalen Fassung mit Klavierbegleitung eine vollkommen andere Wirkung erhält. Auch Richard Wagners fünf Lieder auf Gedichte seiner Muse Mathilde Wesendonck entstanden ursprünglich für Frauenstimme und Klavier. Die französische Mezzosopranistin Stéphanie d'Oustrac wird in ihrer Interpretation einfühlsam begleitet von Pascal Jourdan. Wagners Wesendonck-Lieder sollten schon in mittelgroßen Liedbeständen vorhanden sein, Berlioz' Zyklus "Les nuits d'été" kommt dieses Jahr wegen des Berlioz-Jubiläums (150. Todestag) eine besondere Bedeutung zu, gute Gründe für eine nachdrückliche Empfehlung. pr
