Auf den ersten Blick könnte man vorliegenden Titel glatt für ein Bilderbuch halten: wenig Text, kunstvoll illustriert. Doch es handelt sich tatsächlich um ein SACH-Bilderbuch, das jedoch einer gewissen Poesie nicht entbehrt. Geschrieben aus der Sicht der Inuit beschreibt es Nanuk, den "weißen Bären" - den Eisbären. 2 unterschiedliche Schriftarten trennen die sachlich-informativen Texte von denen, die zwar ebenfalls Sachinformationen transportieren, aber eher erzählend, fast blumig daherkommen. Überwiegend in Blautönen gehalten sind die künstlerisch ausdrucksstarken Illustrationen (Öl oder Acryl auf Leinwand). Im Tiersachbuchbereich sehr ungewöhnlich! Der Titel besticht nicht durch eine Fülle an Sachinformationen, sondern durch seine hochwertige künstlerische Gestaltung. Genau deswegen wird er es nicht so einfach haben, sich im Sachbuchregal zu behaupten. Auch der relativ hohe Preis schreckt wohl einige Bibliotheken ab. Dennoch ein wunderschönes Buch, das den Zauber der Arktis ausstrahlt und zumindest in größeren Bibliotheken nicht fehlen sollte.. - Ein Buch über Nanuk, den "weißen Bären" - den Eisbären! Ab 7.
