In zwei Beiträgen werden Bedeutungszuwachs und Rolle afrikanischer unabhängiger Kirchen in zwei von Krieg heimgesuchten Staaten Zentralafrikas analysiert und nach dem Pontenzial dieser Kirchen für den Prozess der nationalen Versöhnung gefragt. Im ersten Beitrag geht es primär um pentekostale Kirchen in Ruanda, im zweiten stehen Matswanismus und Kimbanguismus in der Republik Kongo (Brazzaville) im Vordergrund. Welche Rolle Religion bei der Vergangenheitsbewältigung spielen kann, ist eine der zentralen Fragen beider Beiträge. (DÜI-Kör)
