Content:
From 9/11 to the Sarrazin debate: that German Muslims are now confronted with a negative image is evident. Maike Didero asks how these negative stereotypes affect the everyday life and identity construction of those involved. Using the example of German-Moroccan interviewees, she shows that divergent reactions are due to different trans-local positioning. Based on the theories of the subject of Laclau/Mouffe, Butler, and Bourdieu, an innovative approach to the analysis of narrative identities is presented here as a performative practice.
