Das hochwertig und zeitgemäß aufgemachte Sachbilderbuch für junge Leser/-innen bietet eine informative wie spielerische Einführung nicht nur zur titelgebenden Frage, sondern auch dazu, was ein Museum überhaupt ist und seit wann und welche Arten von Museen es gibt. Das tschechische Autorentrio, das selbst professionell im Museumsbereich tätig ist und sein Wissen sehr ansprechend an vielen Beispielen an jüngere Leser weiterzugeben weiß, thematisiert außerdem ausführlich, was hinter der Fassade in einem Museum abläuft, wie man dort Kunst lagert, wer in einem Museum arbeitet und außerdem - an dem fiktiven Exempel "Geheime Gärten" -, wie eine Ausstellung entsteht. Blättert man durch die über 60 meist weißgrundigen, teilweise ausklappbaren und dabei sehr abwechslungsreich von D. Böhm illustrierten Seiten (vgl. u.a. "Kopf im Kopf", ID-B 18/17, aktuell für den Dt. Jugenliteraturpreis nominiert) trifft man u.a. auf Wimmelbilder und kleine Suchaufgaben. Oft sind Text und Bild eng miteinander verzahnt. Auch wenn es teuer ist, sollte dieses anregende und neugierig stimmende Buch in keiner Bibliothek fehlen.
