An aktueller Literatur zur Kultur und zum rätselhaften Volk der Kelten besteht kein Mangel. Der Autor des vorliegenden Buchs ist ein bemerkenswerter Vielschreiber (verlegt überwiegend bei "Amber Books"), der vor allem zu militär- und waffentechnischen Themen, aber auch fiktionale Texte und im "Gaming"-Umfeld publiziert. Weite Bereiche der keltischen Kultur und Geschichte werden anschaulich beschrieben, wobei es zu manchen Redundanzen kommt, wenn regionale Aspekte (Gallien, Britische Inseln) vertieft werden. Keltische Mythen und Legenden werden relativ ausführlich aufgegriffen und in Auswahl nacherzählt. Das Buch ist reich illustriert und eignet sich aufgrund der Aufmachung und gut verständlichen Textgestaltung vor allem für ein jüngeres Publikum und für Themenneulinge. Weitaus fundierter und als Einführung substanzieller sind u.a. A. Demandt (BA 11/98, diverse Auflagen) und Bernhard Maier (ID-B 26/15). Falls die zitierten Werke nicht vorhanden sind, aufgrund des günstigen Preises und der nutzerfreundlichen Präsentation denkbar; auch in Schulbibliotheken.
