Ein 1. Buch über Pflanzen legt der Ravensburger Verlag hier vor. Es geht um deren Aufbau, den Weg vom Samenkorn zur fertigen Blume und um die Bestäubung der Pflanzen durch Bienen, Schmetterlinge, den Wind. Wie die Samen in die Erde gelangen (z.B. durch Eichhörnchen, die vergrabene Nüsse vergessen), wird auf einer weiteren Doppelseite gezeigt. Interessant ist auch das Kapitel "Was schmeckt dir aus dem Garten?", das den Begriff "Früchte" einmal genauer unter die Lupe nimmt - denn häufig essen wir tatsächlich gar nicht die Frucht, sondern den Samen (Erbse) oder sogar den Stängel (Kohlrabi). Dass Pflanzen auch durchaus wehrhaft sind, zeigt der Abschnitt über Dornen und abschreckende Düfte (z.B. Lavendel). Das obligatorische Suchspiel auf der letzten Seite darf natürlich auch in diesem Band nicht fehlen. Alles in allem ein sehr ansprechender und pfiffiger Titel, der 1. Wissen zum Thema vermittelt. Vergleichbar mit "Eine Pflanze wird groß" (BA 7/00). Reihenübliche Aufmachung mit vielen Klappen und bunten Illustrationen. Empfohlen.. - Ein Buch über Pflanzen für Kinder ab 3 Jahren.
