Der im Jahre 1879 gegründete Synagogenverein Beth Zion eröffnete 1910 auf dem Hof der Brunnenstraße 33 in Berlin-Mitte ein eigenes Bethaus. Es war lebendiger Mittelpunkt des religiösen Lebens zahlreicher jüdischer Bewohner der Rosenthaler Vorstadt. Das Gebäude überstand die Pogromnacht, den Krieg, die DDR-Zeit und jahrelangen Leerstand. Viele Bürger engagierten sich für den Erhalt und eine kulturelle Nutzung des denkmalgeschützten Synagogengebäudes. Seit 2007 gibt es wieder jüdisches Leben im Gebäudekomplex. Eine Talmud-Tora-Schule hat hier ihren Platz gefunden. Quelle: Klappetext.
