Zum 75. Todestag des evangelischen Theologen und Widerstandskämpfers gegen das Nazi-Regime Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) eine Darstellung der letzten acht Jahre seines Lebens, Denkens und Wirkens. Ellermeier (vgl. u.a.: "Sophie Scholl - Lesen ist Freiheit", ID-A 40/18 und über ihren Bruder "Hans Scholl", ID-A 13/14) lebendig, einfühlsam und anschaulich den Lebensabschnitt Bonhoeffers von 1937 bis zu seiner Ermordung im KZ 1945. Im Fokus stehen dabei seine illegale Theologenausbildung im Rahmen der "Bekennenden Kirche", seine Amerikareise, seine Rückkehr nach Deutschland und sein Widerstand gegen Hitler. - Ein geschickt aus ethischen Reflexionen, theologischen Einsichten, moralischen Empfindungen und historischen Fakten zusammengesetztes Bild der Persönlichkeit des Porträtierten in einer optisch ansprechenden Edition. Vor anderen und umfassenderen Bonhoeffer-Biografien wie zuletzt derjenigen von W. Huber (ID-B 11/19) oder der von C. Tietz (ID-A 4/20).
