A estos procesos de creación, difusión y recepción, prestamos atención a través de trece capítulos que exploran la relevancia de los intérpretes de la escena popular, como la Argentinita, Celia Gámez, Antonio Machín o Carmen Sevilla, que triunfaron en una y otra orilla, las giras a lo largo del continente americano, la importancia de la danza y del flamenco, y las migraciones y trasvases culturales de expresiones musicales y artísticas, entre otros aspectos. Unas aproximaciones que nos permitirán comprender prácticas artísticas, músicas, épocas y tensiones, entre lo local y lo cosmopolita, y lo propio y lo identitario, que aún hoy merecen ser estudiadas y comprendidas.
