In diesem Jahr wird der 500. Todestag des Universalgenies Leonardo da Vinci weltweit groß gefeiert. Er war nicht nur Maler, Bildhauer, Architekt, Anatom, Mechaniker, Ingenieur und Naturphilosoph, belegt sind auch Auftritte als Sänger und Instrumentalist an der "Lira de braccio" sowie Experimente mit neuen Musikinstrumenten und Klängen. - Denis Raisin Dadre und das von ihm gegründete Ensemble Doulce Mémoire spüren in ihrer Veröffentlichung nach, welche Musik am besten zu Bildern da Vincis passen könnten. 15 ausgewählte Bilder sind, teilweise mit zusätzlichen Detailansichten, im aufwendig gestalteten Buch (DVD-Format mit beiliegender CD) reproduziert und mit weiteren Erläuterungen versehen. Den Bildern ordnet er Musik aus der Zeit zu, u.a. von Jacob Obrecht, Josquin des Prez, Heinrich Isaac oder auch Lieder auf Texte von Petrarca.
