Die gegenwärtige "gesellschaftliche Praxis der Technologisierung" markiert eine historische Zäsur, die auch die Beurteilungsvoraussetzungen selbst erfaßt. Entgegen dem noch gültigen kulturellen Selbstverständnis ist Technik als Bildung wahrzunehmen und zu begreifen. Das bedeutet keineswegs, einer scheinbar ausweglos sich vollziehenden Technologisierung auch noch den Segen der Bildung zu erteilen. Im Gegenteil: Die "Neufassung des Bildungsbegriffs" (Heydorn) wird innerhalb der Technologisierung zur zentralen Aufgabe unserer Epoche. Sie widerspricht dabei allerdings einem Charakteristikum bürgerlich-abendländischer Zivilisation, in deren Verlauf Bildung und Technik - auch noch in kritischen Theoriebildungen - zu Gegensätzen, letztlich zu zwei Kulturen wurden. Im Bewußtsein globaler sozialer und ökologischer Katastrophen, aber auch der erodierenden Legitimation herrschender Zivilisation ist die konsequente Selbstkritik der Bildung gefordert. Im Horizont dieser epochalen Veränderung gewinnt Kants Bestimmung der Urteilskraft für die kritische Bildungstheorie zentrale Bedeutung. Von ihr aus wird in vorliegender Arbeit die "reflektierte Sachkompetenz" als Begriff subjektiver Bildung entworfen, während die Forderung nach "Interdisziplinarität" als immanente Kritik an der objektiven Rationalitätsverfassung begreifbar wird.
