Diese Anthologie versammelt Texte von Autoren, die in den letzten Jahren nach Deutschland gekommen sind und jetzt hier im Exil leben. Einige kamen mit einem Stipendium, andere aufgrund von Arbeitsverträgen, einige haben ein Asylverfahren durchlaufen, andere stecken noch mittendrin. Darum sind es Texte aus Deutschland – Gedichte, Kurzgeschichten oder Erzählungen, die zu diesem Land gehören, genauso wie die Schriftsteller und die Flüchtlinge, die jetzt hier leben. Die Autoren erzählen von ihrer Heimat, dem Alltag, den sie verlassen haben, von Flucht, von Vereinsamung, von einer Existenz in einem fremden Land mit einer fremden Kultur, die ihnen oft auch feindselig begegnet, von Verzweiflung, von Rettung und von neuer Verzweiflung. Ihre Geschichten sind in ihren Heimatländern häufig verboten gewesen und nicht veröffentlicht worden. Hierzulande kennt man ihre Geschichten bislang nicht, weil die Sprachbarriere ihnen ihre Stimme genommen hat. Diese Anthologie stellt Fragen – wer sind die Geflüchteten und warum sind sie gekommen? –, anders als es Journalisten tun. Literatur gibt andere Antworten, sie lässt uns teilhaben an etwas, was wir selber sind, ohne uns dessen bewusst zu sein. Diese Anthologie ist ein Beispiel dafür, auf wie vielfältige formale und inhaltliche Weise uns Literatur mit Welten, mit Sichtweisen und mit uns selbst vertraut machen kann.
