Wie sehen Jugendliche in Europa zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts aus, wie stellen sie sich dar? Gibt es deutlich erkennbare Unterschiede im Outfit und in der Haltung junger Leute verschiedener europäischer Regionen? Verwischen die gegenwärtigen gesellschaftlichen Prozesse regionale Prägungen? Diesen Fragen gehen der Berliner Fotograf Edgar Zippel und die Ausstellung im Museum Europäischer Kulturen, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin nach. Der Fotograf unternahm mehrere Reisen in verschiedene Regionen Europas und porträtierte junge Leute zwischen 18 und 23 Jahren. Die 100 Porträts junger Europäer aus Portugal, Republik Moldau, Italien, Großbritannien, Rumänien, Island und Deutschland ergeben ein faszinierendes Spektrum. In Interviews erzählten sie über ihre Zukunftswünsche, ihre Hoffnungen und Ängste, wobei sich ein Großteil von Ihnen übrigens vor nichts fürchtet: »I’m not afraid of anything!«. Edgar Zippel hat an der Universität Essen Fotografie studiert und lebt jetzt in Berlin. Seine Arbeiten wurden bereits im Deutschen Hygiene Museum, Dresden, im Museum Europäischer Kulturen, Berlin und im Ruhrmuseum, Essen ausgestellt. Darüber hinaus hat er seine Fotos in drei Büchern veröffentlicht
