Content: This work talks about the contemporary philosophy of dispositions, through a comparison with the leibnizian philosophy of force. It shows that most of the contemporary positions are probably fixed by the cartesian's and lockian's interpretations of the powers in physics, and that the leibnizian's interpretation is good enough to purpose some issues about the ontology, epistemology and semantics of the powers, without endorse the problems of the generality and the indetermination of dispositions. This work wants to show that it's possible to defend a realist interpretation of the powers like Leibniz did. It wants to clarify some questions about causality and legacy in physics, and discuss some of the interpretations of the contemporary results in physics in terms of propensions

Content: It was Leibniz himself who spoke of "error labyrinths" in connection with two central philosophical problems: that of the continuous and that of freedom. From the first, we can say by following Vuillemin that, since the formulation of Zeno's paradoxes, he has dominated the history of theoretical philosophy; second, that through another aporia, that of Diodorus, he dominated the history of practical philosophy. The object of this course for the years 2009 and 2010 lies in a certain way directly in the continuation of that of the course for the previous two years, devoted to an attempt to answer the question "What is a system philosophical? " The goal is to examine in detail the kind of response that Leibniz's system tries to bring to the aporia of Diodorus and, more precisely, the way in which he strives to defend and protect freedom from the threat of necessitarism, in particular of Spinozist necessitarism.
