Konrad Görg hat Zitate zur Judenfeindschaft und zum Judenmord der Nationalsozialisten gesammelt: zeitgenössische von Tätern und Opfern, analytische von Beobachtern und Interpreten, lakonische Weisheit von Dichtern und zugespitzte Deutungen von Journalisten. Er habe als Nachgeborener sich dem Holocaust nur nähern können durch den Chor verschiedener, den Dialog eröffnender Stimmen, erklärt Görg im Vorwort. Das ist ihm gelungen. Wie bei allen Spruchsammlungen wird jede Leserin, jeder Leser an unterschiedlichen Zitaten hängen bleiben. Aber gerade damit wird eingelöst, was der ebenfalls zitierte spanische Schriftsteller und Philosoph Manès Sperber so formuliert hat: Erinnern sei eine besondere Form der Liebe zu denen, die ihr Unglück stimmlos gemacht habe.
