Wie entwickeln sich philosophische Gedanken bei Kindern? Wie kann Philosophieunterricht in der Grundschule aussehen? Auf der Basis kontinuierlicher Unterrichtspraxis entwickelt die Autorin in dieser qualitativ-empirischen Arbeit ein Konzept für die Gestaltung von Philosophieunterricht in der Primarstufe – eine Arbeit aus der Praxis für die Praxis. Durch zunehmende religiöse Heterogenität sowie Areligiosität ergibt sich in den Grundschulen ein bildungspolitisches Problem: Der konfessionelle Religionsunterricht erreicht zahlreiche Schülerinnen und Schüler nicht. Einen Alternativ- oder Ersatzfachunterricht gibt es nicht in allen Bundesländern. Auch in Nordrhein-Westfalen gibt es ein solches Unterrichtsangebot bislang nicht. Hier nimmt die Arbeit der Autorin ihren pragmatischen Ausgangspunkt. Sie geht der Frage nach, ob es sinnvoll ist, bereits für die Primarstufe ein philosophisches Unterrichtsfach einzurichten. Zur Untersuchung dieser Frage werden theoretische Grundlagen erörtert, aber auch die konkrete Unterrichtspraxis wird differenziert in den Blick genommen.
