Der vergriffene Titel "Regenwald" (ID-A 44/01) aus der Reihe "Die Welt erleben und verstehen" lag zum Vergleich leider nicht vor. Hier handelt es sich vermutlich um eine Neubearbeitung als Band 17 der "memo Kids"-Reihe. Wo ist der Regenwald? Welche Waldschichten gibt es? Welche Tiere leben wo und welche Pflanzen wachsen in dem Klima des Dschungels? Anhand der Waldschichten als Etagen von oben (Überständer) bis unten (Flüsse) wird die exotische Tier- und Pflanzenwelt u.a. von Papageien, Affen, Schlangen, Fledertieren, Spinnen, Piranhas, Baumriesen und Lianen in einzelnen Kapiteln vorgestellt. Reichlich mit Fotos illustriert und kurzen Informationstexten versehen. Außerdem kleine "Weißt du das?"-Kästen mit besonderem Wissen. Im Anhang zur Unterhaltung mit Foto-Quiz, Ameisen-Labyrinth und Rätsel. Am Ende mit Glossar und Register. Für Grundschüler wird viel Wissen gut dosiert vermittelt. Günstiger Titel zur Fortsetzung der Reihe, ansonsten für etwas Ältere "Amazonia" (ID-A 48/13) oder "Regenwald" (ID-A 50/13) aus der "Was-ist-was?"-Reihe.
