Diese Festschrift ist als Hommage an Georg Heike von zweien seiner Schüler entstanden. Im Zentrum von Heikes Schaffen standen Wissenschaft und Kunst, Sprache und Musik: Georg Heike hat Schallforschung immer fachübergreifend gesehen und betrieben. Während er das Institut für Phonetik der Universität zu Köln leitete, standen die Türen Wissenschaftlern und Künstlern gleichermaßen offen. Diese Offenheit soll dieser Band widerspiegeln, in dem Kompositionen und wissenschaftliche Texte nebeneinander stehen.
