Con el viento arrastrando sonidos de seres creados por el miedo y el deseo incontenible de tratar de escuchar algo que justifique el crujir de dientes, se fueron armonizando tambores producidos por los corazones de mil personas que tenían, todas, ojos en los oídos desde aquel extraño sueño de la anciana que vio cuando la tierra se tragó a las primeras seis familias que usaron las estrellas del occidente montañoso como sábana sagrada mientras hacín el amor, cada noche para cultivar la tierra. Escrito quedó, mas nadie sabía en dónde, pero hace cinco siglos, cuando esa mujer era joven y tan deseada como la dulce leche de los muros de los templos, sucedió que tuvo un sueño que no sabía si hacerla sentir gozo, vergüenza o pena. Soñó que tenía ojos en los oídos y que podía cerrarlos con párpados y pestañas cada vez que no quería saber algo; y cuando escuchaba algo que le interesaba mucho, por ser leyenda, por ser secreto, por ser brujería o confesión erótica, ella prestaba toda la atención y podía ser con detalles lo que pasaba.
