In Hamburg gibt es seit 10 Jahren die Koordinationsstelle für Wohn-Pflege-Gemeinschaften. Damit wird die Ent/wicklung ambulant betreuter Wohngemeinschaften für Menschen mit Demenz, die trotz liebevoller Begleitung und Pflege durch Angehörige nicht mehr in ihrer häus/lichen Umgebung verbleiben können, unterstützt. Seither sind immer mehr Wohngemeinschaften als Alternative zur Heimbetreuung entstanden und dieses Buch blickt auf die Geschichte dieser Wohnform zurück. Dabei geht es nicht um die äußeren Projektbedingungen, nicht um Architektur, Finanzierung, Ausstattung oder Organisation. Die Autorinnen stellen einzelne Persön/lich/keiten vor, die maßgeblichen Anteil an der Entwicklung von WGs in Hamburg haben. Es gehört ein enges Netzwerk von Unterstützern dazu: neben der Koordinationsstelle vor allem die Alzheimer Gesellschaft Hamburg e.V., aber auch vor Ort arbeitende Pflegeteams, Therapeuten, Clowns, Musiker. Nicht zu vergessen die Unterstützer von Seiten der Behörden und der Wohnungswirtschaft. Ohne dieses Engagement wäre der bisherige Erfolg nicht zu erreichen gewesen.
