Dass Walt Disney nur einige (Anfangs-)Jahre "seine" Comics selbst zeichnete, hat sich herumgesprochen. Weniger bekannt ist, wer die kreativen Köpfe waren, deren Namen Disney lange Zeit verleugnen liess. Den gröt︢en unter ihnen - Floyd Gottfredson, Al Taliaferro, Carl Barks - setzt eine in diversen Städten gezeigte Ausstellung (derzeit in Regensburg) ein Denkmal. Für den Begleitband (oft fälschlicherweise als "kleiner Katalog" bezeichnet) lieferten Verleger P. Reichelt, Harald Havas und Wolfgang J. Fuchs, alles ausgewiesene Comic- bzw. Disney-Kenner, biografische Beiträge samt einiger persönlicher Berichte zu den Disney-Brüdern und dem Trio (plus Erwähnung eines weiteren wichtigen Zeichners, Ub Iwerks). Die Autoren bestätigen ihren Ruf, ihre Texte sind komprimiert, bisweilen etwas ehrfürchtig, doch überaus informativ, Personen, Werk und comic-historische Bedeutung werden mehr als angemessen gewürdigt. Das gröt︢e Manko dieses Buches ist sein Kleinformat, ansonsten hat es durchaus einen Platz neben allgemeinen Comic-Sekundärwerken (z.B. A.C. Knigge: "Alles über Comics", BA 9/04) verdient. (2)
