Eine Schule des malerischen Sehens – nichts weniger bietet der Künstler Jochen Hein. Aus der Ferne zeigen seine Gemälde scheinbar Meeresoberflächen, grüne Wiesenlandschaften oder hohe Himmel. Doch bei näherer Betrachtung brechen die Wirklichkeit der Bilder und unsere Wahrnehmung auseinander. Nichts ist so wie es scheint. Statt realistische Landschaftsmalerei zu sein, zerstäuben die Malereien mit jedem Schritt, den man weiter auf sie zugeht, in reine Farbe. Und nicht nur das: Was das Auge bis dahin als Wahrheit erkannte, entpuppt sich als Laboratorium von Prozessen, in welchen die Farbe nass in nass ineinander läuft und getropft, gespritzt, mit dem Mallappen verwischt, abgetragen, aufgetupft wird. Wie bei einem Besuch im Atelier wird dem Betrachtenden der Blick auf seine komplexe Maltechnik gewährt. Es zeichnet die Werke von Jochen Hein aus, dass sie nie allein gemalte Natur, sondern auch immer die Natur des Malens zeigen. Und fasziniert muss man feststellen: Gegenständlichkeit und Abstraktion sind hier eins – selbst die Illusion ist hier Illusion. Jochen Hein (*1960, Husum) lebt und arbeitet in Hamburg. Hein besuchte die Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg. 2013 erschien seine erste Monografie Die Natur des Menschen. "Jochen Hein lädt in diesem eleganten Bildband ein zum 'Abenteuer Sehen', zum 'Abenteuer Zeit'. Die malerische Perfektion, die Kunst der Oberfläche wird hier zur Tiefenbohrung.
