Wie es sich für diese Reihe animierender Reiseskizzen gehört, die im laufenden Jahr gleich im Dutzend erschienen sind (z.B. J. Remus: ID-A 40/13), ist Hell, Autor, Übersetzer und Literaturkritiker, ein bekennender (und kennender) Liebhaber Ungarns. Zuletzt wurde seine "Lesereise Budapest" (ID-A 17/12) wärmstens empfohlen, und auch dieses hübsche schmale Bändchen bietet liebevolle, immer persönlich gehaltene Impressionen für neugierig Reisende, die sich ihr Ungarnbild nicht gleich von den Schatten verderben lassen wollen, die zuletzt dort die politische Landschaft verdüstert haben. Reihenüblich sind es nie mehr als kurze Streiflichter, ein bisschen Debrecen, ein bisschen Pécs und Szeged, Budapest auch wieder, ein verwunderter Blick auf die Sprache, ein bisschen Natur, ein bisschen Kunst, zufällig zusammengestellt und lückenhaft, doch vermitteln sie genau das, was sie (nur) wollen: Anregungen, farbige Bilder, Lust, die Koffer zu packen. Gute Ergänzung also zu Reiseführern oder zu Länderporträts wie jüngst von R. Vetter (ID-A 17/12) oder Bildbänden wie zuletzt "Reise durch Ungarn" (ID-A 31/12). (2)
