Welche Folgen hat die deutsche Vereinigung für die Stabilität in Europa? Der Artikel versucht die sicherheitspolitischen Konsequenzen in zehn Thesen zu benennen. Deutschland hat aufgrund seiner geopolitischen Lage die Führungsrolle in einem Europa, das nach Beendigung des Kalten Krieges von den beiden Ordnungsmächten USA und UdSSR in die Eigenverantwortung entlassen wird. Die Rolle Deutschlands wird von den europäischen Staaten mit Besorgnis gesehen. Die Stabilität des neuen gesamteuropäischen Systems verlangt eine politisch und sozialökonomische Stabilität, insbesondere in den Ländern Osteuropas. Deutschland kommt bei der Umsetzung dieses Reformprozesses eine große Bedeutung zu. Diese Unterstützung sichert zukünftig die Stabilität in Europa. (AuD-Hfs)
