Die wissenschaftlich fundierte Dokumentation der vielschichtigen Vergangenheit der für die NS-"Euthanasie"-Aktion T4 namengebenden Villa im Berliner Tiergartenviertel vom Kaiserreich bis heute verleiht dem vergessenen und verdrängten Ort der Täter einen Platz in der deutsch-europäischen Geschichte. Rezension: Zentraler Planungsort der nationalsozialistischen Krankenmorde, denen insgesamt etwa 300.000 Menschen zum Opfer fielen, war eine Villa in der Berliner Tiergartenstrasse 4, die der berühmt-berüchtigten NS-"Euthanasie"-Aktion T4 den Namen gab. Mit ihrer im Rahmen eines DFG-Projektes entstandenen Arbeit erweckt Annette Hinz-Wessels die vielschichtige Vergangenheit der Villa und ihres Viertels von der Kaiserzeit bis heute zum Leben, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der Nutzung des Gebäudes während der NS-Zeit liegt. Eindrucksvoll rekonstruiert die Historikerin u.a. das tödliche Planungsnetzwerk in der "zentralen Dienststelle der Krankenmordorganisation", lässt uns Verwaltungsstruktur und -abläufe erkennen und hier beschäftigten Menschen begegnen. Der lange vergessene und verdrängte Ort der Täter erhält mit dieser wissenschaftlich fundierten Dokumentation, die sich als anschauliche Ergänzung zu dem 2014 vor der Berliner Philharmonie errichteten Gedenk- und Erinnerungsmal versteht, ein Profil und einen Platz in der deutsch-europäischen Geschichte.
