In Prozessen zu Verbrechen in nationalsozialistischen Konzentrationslagern wie Dachau, Mauthausen, Ravensbrück und Neuengamme mussten die Angeklagten in ihren Aussagen eine »Lücke« zwischen den sich widersprechenden politischen, rechtlichen und vor allem moralischen Systemen schließen - und standen damit unter einem erhöhten erzählerischen Druck. Der Umgang mit Dokumenten solcher Verfahren verlangt deshalb eine Quellenkritik, die dem erzählenden Charakter Rechnung trägt, aber auch die Unterschiede zwischen den Prozessordnungen begreift. Dominique Hipp zeigt, dass die Erzähltheorie genau dies vermag, denn die narratologischen Fragen nach dem erzählerischen »Mehr« legen die narrative Selbstdefinition vor Gericht offen.
