Es stimmt nicht, daß man mit vierzehn Jahren keine Sorgen hat, weil man in der "goldenen Jugendzeit" lebt. Vielleicht hat man keine Sorgen um andere Menschen, wie die Erwachsenen so oft. Aber man hat Sorgen, die einen selbst betreffen. Man wächst ja noch und hat viele Pläne und Sehnsüchte, und man muß sich klarwerden über die eigene Persönlichkeit, die sich herausbilden will. Da kann es geschehen, daß man wie Jutta vor allem an sich selbst denkt. Jutta hat freilich ganz andere Sorgen: Sie fürchtet, daß ihr Vater eine Frau als Mutter in ihr Haus bringen wird, die ihr gar nicht gefällt. Jutta, in ihrem Egoismus, der sie nicht an den Vater, sondern nur an sich selbst und den Zwillingsbruder denken läßt, sieht den Dingen, die da kommen sollen, nich tatenlos zu, sie greift selbst ein. Und Ina, die vernünftige Freundin, weiß immer wieder zu besänftigen, wenn die temperamentvolle Jutta übers Ziel hinausschießt. Weil Jutta einen guten Instinkt für Menschen hat, findet sie wirklich die "richtige" Frau für ihren Vater. Könnte sie nicht stolz sein auf ihre Aktivität? Nein, Jutta weiß es selbst: Sie hat ganz einfach Glück gehabt. Und weil es so war und alle den guten Willen haben, wird aus den Zwillingen mit ihrem Vater und der Frau, die nun ins Haus kommt, eine glückliche Familie.
