TON-U Das Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio - oder wie es manchmal genannt wird, das DLO3, - ist spezialisiert auf die verlorene Kunst der "Wohlfühlmusik". Die Zutaten dieses berauschenden Cocktails sind eine große Portion des 1960er-Jahre-Orgel-Jazzstils von Jimmy Smith und Baby Face Willette, eine Prise des flotten Soul-Stils von Booker T. & The M.G.'s und The Meters; und eine Prise Motown, Stax Records, Blues und eine kosmische Gitarre im Stil von Jimi Hendrix. Es ist ein Soul-Jazz-Gebräu, das direkt ins Herz geht und den Körper ins Schwitzen bringt. Zur Band gehört der Organist Delvon Lamarr, ein virtuoser Autodidakt mit perfektem Gehör, der sich den Jazz selbst beigebracht hat und mühelos eine Vielzahl von Instrumenten spielen kann. An der Gitarre ist der Dynamo Jimmy James zu hören, der sich durch chankende Gitarren im Stil von Steve Cropper, vulkanisches Acid-Rock-Freak-Out-Leadspiel und slinky Jazz im Stil von Grant Green bewegt. Aus Reno, Nevada, kommt der Schlagzeuger Dan Weiss (auch vom Powerhouse Soul- und Funk-Kollektiv The Sextones). Dans schwelendes Pocket-Groove-Schlagzeugspiel sorgt für die explosive Chemie des Trios. Gegründet von Larmarrs Frau und Managerin Amy Novo, begann das Trio 2015 aus bescheidenen Anfängen, hat aber seither zwei Billboard-Chart-Alben veröffentlicht und tourte weltweit vor ausverkauften Häusern. Jetzt kehrt das Trio mit seinem zweiten Studioalbum I Told You So zurück, mit noch härteren Grooves und mehr Selbstvertrauen.
